Getting things ready
How can we help?
Short guides for every part of Settio. Most take a minute to read.
Getting started
Getting started in 15 minutes
The fastest route from a new workspace to your first real result.
Home: what needs you today
Home says in one sentence how many things need you today, then shows three tabs: Needs you, Waiting on others and Starting in 90 days, each row with the one thing to do.
Your trips abroad, from a PDF, Word or Excel file
Add the trips that can move your citizenship date the easy way, check them, and change or restore one later.
Hires & cases
Start and run a new hire
Every hire who needs a permit (or just a move) gets a person page: the stage they're in, the next few steps, and everything else one tab away.
How a step is done: offices, paperwork and forms
Each step says how it's done, where, what to bring and what its documents need (apostille, translation, how recent), with official forms filled from the case.
After filing: more documents, the decision and an appeal
Keep the case in step with the authority's letters (in Sweden, Migrationsverket's): requests for more documents with their deadline, the decision, and an appeal after a refusal.
Ready to file? One verdict per person
Before filing, each person shows one verdict (Blocked, Needs fixes, Ready for review or Ready to file) with the list of what stands in the way and a button to fix each.
To review: every decision in one list
One list of what waits for a person's decision across your people (and an agency's clients): files the document check flagged, identity documents held back, document checks nobody marked fine and people ready to sign off.
When someone leaves: the job ends, the family moves out
Record the end of the employment and the move out of the country; Settio adds the steps with their dates, stops salary checks, and tells you when the case is ready to close.
When the rules change: review and apply
Settio keeps every published version of the permit rules. When one changes, you see what it changes for each person and apply it. Nothing moves on its own.
Documents that check themselves
Uploaded files are read automatically, matched to the steps that need them, and compared with each other.
Hiring someone under temporary protection
For people displaced from Ukraine: the routes to a regular permit before temporary protection ends, as a dated step.
Recognition of a qualification
A person in a regulated profession, such as a nurse, needs their qualification recognised and a licence before they may work in it. Settio adds those steps to the plan and shows where the recognition stands.
Posting a worker within Europe
A worker posted by a foreign employer must be declared in the host country, carry an A1 (or a certificate under a social security agreement) and is watched at 12 and 18 months. Settio dates each of these and warns before they are missed.
Cohorts: candidates who move together
A cohort is a group of candidates moving to one employer, such as the nurses for one hospital, with a target start. Its board shows where each one is, and the employer sees the group in its monthly report.
The timeline: what happened and what's next
One list per person of what happened and what's coming: the same for everyone on the case, with each person seeing only their part.
Connect your HR and hiring systems
When an offer is accepted in your hiring system, a draft case appears in Settio automatically.
Monitoring
Permit and salary monitoring
After arrival, Settio checks each month's salary against the permit terms and the minimum in force, so nobody risks losing their permit.
Sponsor duties: reporting changes
Where the employer sponsors the permit (the Netherlands' recognised sponsor), every change it must report gets a dated step.
Import people and run a health check
See every risk in your current workforce in minutes: expiries, salaries below the terms, passports running out.
Reports: monthly, permits, audit, health, quality, team and exports
Every report in one place: what was done this month, whose permit ends soon, compliance evidence, workforce risks and CSV exports.
Employees
The employee portal
Your new hire follows their own move from a personal link, without a Settio account, and the portal changes with where they are.
Languages
Employees read the portal and their emails in one of eight languages. Each person on your team picks English, Swedish, German or French.
Messages with the employee
One conversation per household between the employee and your team, tagged by topic, with photos and PDFs that go through the usual document check.
Employees' data: requests, erasure and retention
Employees download their data and ask you to correct or delete it from the portal; you answer within one month, erase what the law allows, and personal data goes after the retention period.
Vendors and employee services: bank, insurance, housing
Keep one list of your vendors. Employees see them in the portal when they need a bank, insurance or a union, and you assign them relocation topics on a case.
Move estimate: what the move will cost
Price a household's move before it starts, send it to the employer for approval, and track costs against it.
Vendor quotes and invoices
Ask a vendor for a quote, approve it, approve the invoice (over budget with a note), and it becomes a cost of the move.
Relocation: the whole move, by topic
Home, preschool and school, health, money and admin, getting around and the partner: every family member's topics in one place, in order, readable any time.
Agencies
Engagement and parties: who does what
Say how a person is engaged (a direct hire, a placement, a posting, a service or a subcontract), name the companies that take part, and see each one's duties.
Clients: run every company from one place
For immigration agencies: set up client companies, see all their cases, and work on them as their partner.
Your playbook: work your way in every country
Add your own steps to Settio's plan, hide the ones you don't use and set your offices per city, country by country, for every case your team runs.
The country library: every country, its sources and review dates
Countries in the sidebar: what it takes to move someone to each of Settio's 37 countries, the permits, arrival chain and dated facts behind it, and how to tell Settio when something is wrong.
Prices, quotes and billing (agencies)
Quote from your own prices, bill at each milestone automatically, and export to your accounting system.
Team & account
API & webhooks
Let your HR, payroll and data systems create cases, send salaries and changes, and hear what happens on a case, with scoped API keys and signed webhooks.
Invite your team and choose roles
Everyone gets their own login and a role that decides what they can do.
One login, several workspaces
Work for more than one company or agency? Switch between them without signing in again.
Share a client or a case with people outside your team
Give someone a role on one client's cases or on one case, choose what they see, and move a case to another workspace.
Single sign-on (SSO) with your identity provider
Your team signs in with your company's Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace or any OIDC or SAML identity provider. Admins set it up in Settings → Privacy and security.
Your Settio plan
What counts, what's free, and how to choose a plan: agencies pay per case, companies for people on a permit or for monitoring. Prices in kronor or euros.
