Relocation: the whole move, by topic
Home, preschool and school, health, money and admin, getting around and the partner: every family member's topics in one place, in order, readable any time.
- 1Topics, not listsEvery step belongs to an area (Permit, Home, Children, Money & admin, Health, Getting around, Partner) and a topic. Each topic says why it matters, the steps in order, what to bring, who does what and where to get help.
- 2The family's My move tabIn the portal, My move shows every area with its progress, for everyone or one person (You · Partner · each child). Future topics open too ("Coming up, you can read ahead"), and search finds "school", "car" or "dentist".
- 3Tell us about your moveSix short screens: who's moving, children, home, getting around, the partner, anything else. Each child gets their own family case and plan. Change an answer and the plan follows: steps that no longer apply are listed and only removed when confirmed.
- 4Home: shortlist and lease checkIn the Home topic the family and you share one shortlist with viewings, offers and a lease check before signing, from the destination's own rules: Sweden's (sublet consent, deposit, rent in advance), Germany's (the landlord's permission to sublet, a deposit of at most three net cold rents), France's and Spain's; amounts in the case's currency. Each rule links its source. Temporary housing's end date becomes a step for you. The family can also hide any topic ("Not for me") or snooze it; you can restore it.
- 5Viewing day, tenant file and the leasePlan a viewing day: several flats on one date, an itinerary for the family, and their verdict per flat (like, maybe, not for us, with a note) from the portal. Tick "This address can be registered". In Germany the hint names the landlord's Wohnungsgeberbestätigung. Tenant file (the team only) downloads a zip for landlords: a cover sheet, the employer's confirmation of employment, the ID, the latest payslips and the contract. Once signed, the lease's end and the last day to give notice (worked out where the country's rule is known) become steps; the move-in and move-out reports take notes and photos from the phone, and in France the defects deadline after the entry report becomes a step. Countries without rules for renting yet show the home as a step with a date.
- 6Relocation in the Case fileOn the person page: the household brief (print it on one page), the policy tier with spend against budget, and areas × people, each cell a topic with its status. Open one to see what the family sees. Tiers (Essential, Family, Executive) are set in Settings → Company details, or on each client for agencies; uncovered topics still show to the family with how to do it themselves.
Schools: on each child's School or Preschool topic, the family and you share a shortlist: public, private or international, the language of instruction, the fees in the case's currency, the application deadline, the first school day and the waiting list. The family says what they think from the portal; you choose one, and its application deadline and first day become the child's steps (mark Applied when it went in).
Orientation day: Case file → Relocation → Orientation day → Plan a day: the stops of a day of visits with their times (local time where the family moves), how long and where. It stays a draft until you share it; the family then gets one email and sees the itinerary in My move, ready to print (so can you).
When the household moves out, Leaving… on the person page adds the Leaving area with the country's steps (in Sweden: the lease, Skatteverket, school, the shipment home). A tier's Moving home entitlement and budgets cover the move back.
People → Relocation lists every household, most pressing first: follow-ups, low check-ins, temporary flats ending, overdue topics.
Ready for payroll: after arrival, the person page's facts row gives the date the arrival chain (registration, personal number, ID card, bank) should be done, amber when it falls after the start date and red when a step stalls; click it for the step that holds it up. People → More filters → Settling in → Not ready for payroll lists who isn't there yet. When the employee adds their personal number while ticking the step, you get a bell notice.
Before the move, where the country has a list (Sweden does), the portal shows the employee what to do before the flight, each item dated back from the start date with its official page, and the person page shows how many are done.
Recording the arrival can include the family members who landed the same day, so their steps follow.
In Sweden, Money & admin → Tax explains where the employee pays tax: SINK for a stay under six months, Swedish tax like a resident from six. The tax step follows the expected stay: correct the stay past six months (Arrived ›) and the SINK step and the A-tax step swap. The SINK rate and the expert-tax salary level in the steps are the ones in force when the step is due.
On topics the employer offers on request, the family can tap "Ask for help with this". It lands on your Home and in the household's Messages, tagged with the topic.
Open a topic in Relocation on the Case file tab to assign it (you, the family or a vendor), add team notes and book appointments. Accompanied ones bill your accompanied-appointment line, and Home lists This week.
Vendors come from your list in Settings → Company details → Vendors. One that uses Settio sees only the topics you assign to it.
After arrival the portal also shows the household its rights and benefits (where the country has them: in Sweden sick pay, holiday, dental support, child benefit, university without fees, Swedish lessons) and short settling-in cards, with one for the season.
14 and 30 days after arrival the family is asked how settled they feel (1–5) and what's in the way (tick paperwork, bank, housing, language, feeling alone or partner, and add a few words); at 90 days also how likely they are to recommend the help with the move (0–10) and what could be better; when they leave (a week before the leaving day) or the case is closed, the recommend question and a comment once more. One card at a time on the portal's Home, one email reminder a few days later (and a phone notice if they turned notices on). Settled 2 or lower, a recommend score of 6 or lower, or a blocker lands on Home as a follow-up step, in your language, and sends you a bell notice. The step shows the scores and what's in the way, never the family's own words: those are in Relocation on the Case file tab, under Feedback. People → More filters → Settling in → A check-in needs a follow-up lists them all. In the first December after arrival there is a winter check-in, and once the main hire has answered, a partner answers their own (it shows under their name in Feedback). On Mondays families get one email with what's due that week.
Facts come with the official link and the date they were checked; they're general guidance, not legal advice.
Each country brings its own relocation steps: childcare, school enrolment, the family doctor, the language course and the partner's right to work as that country runs them, and a child benefit step where the country pays one. A country without its own steps shows the general ones, never another country's.
Health notes are optional and only visible to people with access to the case.
