Agencies
The country library: every country, its sources and review dates
Countries in the sidebar: what it takes to move someone to each of Settio's 37 countries, the permits, arrival chain and dated facts behind it, and how to tell Settio when something is wrong.
- 1Open a countryCountries in the sidebar lists every country Settio covers: first where your people go (your main country and every country you move people to, with how many), then all the others. Type in Find a country to search by name, in English or the country's own language, or by a code such as DE. Click a country to open it beside the list; on a phone it opens on its own, with All countries to go back.
- 2What it takesA country opens with Moving someone to the country: what it takes, in three parts: before they come (the permit routes, how long a decision usually takes, whether a salary minimum applies), their first weeks (the steps after arrival, in order) and later on (renewal, and the years before permanent residence where the country states them). Below are the rows people look for: Permits you can apply for, the salary minimum, and your playbook (Admins: Settings → Playbook for that country, where you adapt Settio's steps and can offer a change to Settio for everyone).
- 3Read the detailsUnder More about the country: the permits a new case can take, its authorities, the arrival chain in the country's own words ("Anmeldung: registering the address"), the dated facts (every amount and period the steps use, with the value, in force from, the source and when it was reviewed), processing times, the trusted-employer scheme where there is one, and what is still draft: the open questions a local reviewer is asked first.
- 4Review dueA fact Settio last reviewed more than 180 days ago says Review due. It is still the figure in force as far as Settio knows; check the source before you rely on it. Where the law states a fee or period without a start date, its "in force from" is the day Settio read it: the value holds at least since then, so steps due earlier show it too, until a change with its own start date.
- 5Suggest a correctionEvery fact, processing time and open question has a Suggest a correction button (Members and Admins; up to 20 a day each). Say what is wrong and where you read the right figure; it goes to Settio's queue, tied to that fact, and nothing changes until Settio has checked it.
- 6I need this countryA country Settio has only the essential steps for has I need this country (Members and Admins). Settio counts the requests per country, and the next detailed countries follow demand. Something looks wrong? Tell us, at the bottom of every country, sends a correction about the country as a whole.
Open your playbook takes Admins to Settings → How you work in each country for that country, where you adapt Settio's steps. From the playbook you can also offer one of your changes to Settio for everyone.
On a person's steps, a date marked suggested is Settio's planning (when to start so nothing is late); a date marked by law is a deadline the law sets, with its source on the country's page. Draft countries and the Gulf show suggestions until a deadline is confirmed on an official page.
Your primary country (Settings → Company details; for a client, its page, and a client without one uses its agency's): the country you mostly move people to. Every company and agency workspace has one, chosen at sign-up. New hires start there (an agency's new hire starts in the client's country) and you can still pick another country for one person, with a search by name or code. Home, People and Reports open filtered to it (All countries is one click away when you have people elsewhere), this library lists it first, and employees read the portal in its language where Settio has it. While all your people are there, other countries' tools (the payroll import, the SSYK column) stay out of your way. It is one setting for the whole workspace, not per person.
Every person row (People, Home, the ⌘K search and the bell) shows the flag of the person's country, and for agencies the client; Home and every Reports tab can be narrowed to one country.
The person page shows the country and currency in its facts.
The workforce import takes a Country of work and an Employing entity column (rows without a country use the Default country on the upload step, your primary country unless you change it), and the health check reads each person's own country's thresholds.
Offices and consulates: a country's page lists the Settio directory's offices (which city or postcode each serves), its missions abroad by consular district, and what Settio could not read yet. Only offices whose responsibility an official page states are listed; Suggest a correction works on each.
Deadlines the law counts in working days (Belgium's eight days to register at the commune, Spain's twenty for the UGE-CE's decision) skip the country's weekend and public holidays: Friday and Saturday in Saudi Arabia, Saturday and Sunday in the UAE. The step says "Counted in working days". Holidays that follow the moon (the Eids) are planned on the Umm al-Qura date; the government announces the exact days each year. A Draft country counts its weekend only.
