Ready to file? One verdict per person
Before filing, each person shows one verdict (Blocked, Needs fixes, Ready for review or Ready to file) with the list of what stands in the way and a button to fix each.
- 1The verdict and what blocks filingUnder the person's name, the Ready to file tile says where the application stands: Blocked (something is missing: a document, a fact such as the start date, or a step the filing waits for), Needs fixes (a document check found a problem, a document will be too old on the filing day, the passport ends before the permit would, a document nobody has accepted yet, or the rules changed since the plan was made), Ready for review (everything is in and nothing is open) or Ready to file. Click it to go to the top of the Plan tab (the tab shows the number of things to fix): the verdict, its four-step bar and the list of what stands in the way, each with its fix.
- 2Each problem opens its fixEvery line has a button: Open goes to the step holding the document, See the check opens the document checks, Add it opens the change for a missing fact, Review goes to the rule update. Fix it there and the verdict follows by itself.
- 3Mark ready to fileWhen the case is ready for review, an Admin or a Member presses Mark ready to file. Your name and the time are recorded in the Story. You can also sign off a case that only has warnings left: they count as accepted. Anything new that comes up afterwards clears the sign-off, and the case shows Needs fixes again. Take back undoes a sign-off.
- 4On People, Home and the monthly reportPeople can be filtered by readiness (More filters) and sorted with Sort: Readiness, the most urgent first, and each row names the verdict. Agencies see how many people stand at each verdict on Home, each opening the list. The monthly report lists every open person's verdict.
- 5The application packThe pack shows the verdict above its button, and its contents file records it. When a document check found an error nobody marked fine, the pack asks why you build it now; the reason goes into the case's Story and onto the pack's cover page.
- 6When the authority asks for moreOnce a request for more documents is recorded (by you, or read from the letter), the verdict comes back as Needs fixes until every item is sent, and an earlier Ready to file is cleared in the Story. Open the request takes you to its first step. With at least five filed cases on the same country and permit type, the verdict also says what authorities asked for on your last ten, and marks a document they often asked for again.
It keeps itself up to date: When the start date moves, a permit or an arrival is recorded, or a day passes, Settio works the date checks out again from what it already read on each file (is the passport still valid, does it still cover the start date), without reading the file again. A file checked before the rules of its step changed shows as checked before the rules changed: open it and run the check again.
The verdict is a checklist, not legal advice. The document checks behind it can be wrong; look at what matters before filing.
Since your last visit: when you open a person, a line under the tabs says what others (and Settio) changed since you last looked: new files, flagged checks, problems found or resolved, the employee's replies, steps done. On People, a blue dot marks the people who changed since your last visit.
Viewers and the client's people see the verdict but can't sign off.
Too old by the filing day: where the country's official rules say how old a document may be when the application is filed (in Brussels, the criminal record extract and the medical certificate must be less than 6 months old), the verdict says when it goes stale, and the employee's portal asks for a newer copy before then.
Pre-filing review: once a person is ready for review, Settio reads the facts taken from their documents (never their passport or ID card) and lists what an officer would most likely question, such as a salary close to the level or dates that don't line up, each with what it read. These are AI suggestions: open the document, or Mark fine with a reason. Settio reads the file again only when its facts change.
Families filed together: the main applicant is ready to file only when every family member filed with them is. Their open points are listed under the main applicant, and Open their file goes to them.
Readiness target (agencies): on a client's Team tab, set ready to file within a number of days of a person being added. The Plan tab's blockers and To review show the days left, To review sorts by them, and the client's monthly report shows the share ready on time. Settings → Workspace → Default readiness target sets one for your own cases and for clients without their own.
Share with the employer: Create a link with the blockers on the Plan tab gives the employer's HR a read-only page with the verdict and what is left, without documents or notes. It works for 30 days, and Revoke ends it at once.
