Employees
Languages
Employees read the portal and their emails in one of eight languages. Each person on your team picks English, Swedish, German or French.
- 1The employee choosesThe portal opens in the language of the employee's browser the first time they sign in. They pick English, Svenska, Deutsch, Français, Español, Português, Nederlands or العربية from the language list at the top of any portal page, the sign-in page too. Every screen, date and number follows. In Arabic the portal reads right to left, with dates and numbers in Latin digits.
- 2Their emails followThe invitation, sign-in codes, document reminders, appointments, message notices, phone notices and the authority's updates go out in the language the employee chose. Before they have chosen one, they use the workspace's language for employees.
- 3Set the workspace's languagesSettings → Company details has two rows: Language for your team, for team members who haven't picked one and emails to the team; and Language for employees, for the portal, emails and phone notices of employees who haven't chosen one ("Same as the team" follows the first). Press Change next to one, pick the language and press Save. Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch and Arabic are offered for employees only.
- 4Pick your ownSettings → Name, password and language → Language. The whole app (Home, People, the person page, Reports, Settings and the rest) is shown in the language you pick, with dates and amounts to match. "Workspace default" follows the setting above.
- 5Steps and guidesThe steps employees see most and the practical guides come in the destination's own language where Settio has it, and permit types are named in the reader's language. Anything without a translation is shown in English, never left blank.
Translations are written and reviewed by people; nothing legal is machine-translated on the fly.
Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch and Arabic are for employees: the portal, their emails and phone notices. The team app is shown in English, Swedish, German or French.
Settio staff can add a title and description in any of these languages to any rule step in Admin → Rules; empty fields use the built-in copy, then English.
Text people write (notes, messages, activity) stays in the language it was written in. Help articles are in English for now.
